STEP 1 - Screening stage

Submit the following documents for evaluation.

  • Resume (free form)
  • Recent photo
  • Photocopy of college diploma
  • Transcript
  • Photocopy of passport (optional)
  • J-1 Application form - download by clicking the Download button on the left.

We need to receive these by fax or e-mail, especially the resume and our application form as well as the photo in digital form. The diploma can also be scanned and mailed by e-mail. We need to receive original transcript from the college you attended. Make sure to state the earliest possible date that you may start working.

  • Send the form to our office.

The resume should show the following information:

  • Name, address, contact information, citizenship
  • Educational background
  • Work experience
  • Skills
  • Qualifications
  • Other things to note
  • References

STEP 2 - Interview

Qualified candidates will be interviewed in our office in Lexington, MA, or by phone if you are located in a distance. Please make sure to include the best time to call and the telephone number so that we can contact you to schedule an interview.


STEP 3 - Contract

We send you a contract form for your review. If agreed, both parties sign and keep the signed contract.


STEP 4 - VISA application

You should contact Korean consulates general in one of the cities close from the places you live. It takes about three weeks and at the time you apply, you will need the following documents:

  • Signed contract
  • Health certificate (showing no record of certain diseases such as drugs or AIDS)
  • Criminal records

STEP 5 - Scheduling to enter Korea

Airline ticket will be sent to you (e-ticket). It will be a ticket for round trip if your work period is one full year or a one-way ticket if your are commited to work only six months.


STEP 6 - Entry and Training

Upon arrival, you should register as a visitor to the country and attend orientation for new teachers. New teachers are trained for 1-2 weeks by a faculty before being ready for starting the job. Upon completion of orientation and training, you will move to your place and your new job begins.
